DTG addendum on Pineland Rule #2: Great point on the mags being ready, but we kinda like the 6 mags & go option, with one in the AR, giving us 210 rounds, so our work around is this:
6 standard 30 round magazines, in a snap closed container with a shoulder strap. Surplus, cheap, waterproofed (by me) and next to a rifle and a knife. Sling over my back and under my coat and, 'voila!' Mobile.
Works for us; YMMV. But DO read the entire post!
Original, here. Lot of wisdom contained in the post.
Pineland Rules for Ranging
Or else shit like this happens to you and your buddies. Fifty percent of the American public will cheer it on. They are not Americans. Do not forget that the American Government designates who is a terrorist and who isn't. And our government is occupied by a foreign enemy. Tough times for real Americans. Be ready to move out with a purpose. Speaking of which...
Why 120 and not the standard US military combat load of 210? Because you can easily fit 120 into your pockets and move the fuck out. We used to have a saying in the 82nd Airborne: you live out of your rucksack, fight out of your LCE (or FLC these days. Look it up, civi's...and cherries.), and survive out of your pockets. Bottom line, one must be ready to move always. Get used to living life as a nomad. No more than twenty-four hours in one position at a time. Do not use the same position twice. Keep your shoes on at all times unless showering. It is a hard life; not for the weak or faint-hearted. But...what happens if you use the same position twice? This. In America that is a SWAT team moving in. Remember that they will treat your family the same way they treat you. Better to be invisible.
This does not just include the jungle. Consider this next photo:
Can you spot the terrorist? No? That is because there is none. We used to say that you have to find the actor in Iraq. It was the same in Afghan and Vietnam. There is a reason the Vietcong could disappear and that is because they knew the local pulse. It wasn't just the jungle they could flit in and out of. In fact, most troops claim they were awful in the jungle. They were completely undisciplined when operating in the bush. But they could disappear among the local villages just like the Iraqis could. A quick lesson on this...
On my second tour I learned that there were two warring Sunni tribes in southern Baghdad, the Kharguli's and Jenabi's (spelling for either unknown and still don't care). I spent a fifteen month tour in that AO, also known as the Sunni Triangle of Death. It was my second tour in that AO. I have one more since then. I still can't pinpoint the exact differences between the tribes, but I know they still hate each other and believe me, they know who the actor is. That is the point of rule number three. Federal forces do not know the local pulse. They do not know the differences in the tribes or cities. Even as atomized as the US cities have gotten with an invasion of foreigners, I can still walk around my hometown in Massachusetts and know the pulse. That is what our elites are trying to end completely and they are doing a good job. A better job than we did in Iraq anyway.
Women are women. Men are men. The link. This weirdo is not a Kurdish warrior. But she might be some sort of spy though. Can you resist the vagina? I'm sick of everyone trying to make woman badass infantryman. They are not. As we have seen with the Chinese, women may not make good warriors, but they make good spies. Vaginas are hard to resist for weak men who do not usually have access to them. But that is all woman are good for, combat wise anyway. They will not be able to hold the line with shield in hand. They will not be able to keep up. Accept reality. Stop being a white knight. Stop enabling the weakest of our tribe. You are just going to get your daughters and wives raped and dead. Once you accept women into your unit, your unit will get weaker. This video is the reality of biology and hilarious. The black guy even smiles and laughs after he beats her. And he should, it is hilarious.
Fuck it. I am done for tonight. The first four rules of the Pineland Rangers break down to this:
1. Don't remember nothing.
2. Clean your shit and be ready to go.
3. Blend into the background.
4. Accept reality. Be truthful in what you say and do.
Thanks for the repost, DTG. Number of rounds and method of carrying is METT-TC as long as it is discreet. Great site and excellent job bouncing back. Stay hard.
You're welcome! Happy to do it - you provide good info for both noobs and old timers (like me). Understand METT-TC considerations; just like my pockets clear if I can help it.
Keep up the good work, and thanks for the kind words!
Comments are very welcome with the following proviso: Comments can't detract from the subject in the post. Debate is fine; 'hi-jacking', ad hominem, vitriol, 'sniping,' reprehensible language for the sake of it, and so forth will not be tolerated and get the offender banned. Once banned, there's usually no 'do over.'
DTG’s 2021 Updated 10 Week (If You’re Lucky) Plan to Prepare for the Worst-Case Scenario It’s been about 13 or 14 years since I wrote this under my since retired ‘nom de guerre’, and commenting on a blog post recently, CA at Western Rifle Shooter’s Association asked me if I’d mind updating it. This is a good base plan for folks you might know just waking up to the fact that things are spinning faster in the vortex than ever before, and this might be the best chance for them to get themselves in gear. Feel free to add or take away as your situation and local area conditions may require. Understand something, though: You have a VERY small window; it may even be too late should something happen that accerlerates the current environment like a JATO (Jet Assisted Take Off) rocket on a C130. So, if you’re just getting st...
Just as Samson was seduced by Delilah, so can you be seduced by the internal desire you have to one degree or another to have all the latest, greatest, coolest, most technically advanced, and 'tacticool' weapons, gear, and associated support equipment available, which, by necessity, will set you back many, many thousands of dollars, usually. When sporty times come, the first thing you'll need to be able to do is actually use what you have. The you have to be able to carry it all. I mention this Nevada a great many, "gear-a-holics" are not in the best shape. Remember a good rule of thumb: All your gear, including weapons, ammo, equipment (all types), food and water shouldn't weigh more than about 65 or 70 pounds. Then, if you're planning on being mobile, you should be ruckingin all sorts of weather over varying distances at a pace of no less than 3 miles an hour over relatively flat and clear routes. But, if yo...
First, I forget where I got this graphic; it's been a long while. It's good though, for this post's purposes. For the uninitiated, or new prepper, protector, defender, NPT member, etc (whatever your group calls the new guys), 'CNS' stands for 'Central Nervous System'. There are three ways to achieve instant incapacitation with a firearm against an attacker: Shoot them in one of the 3 places as outlined above. Other descriptions of the targets (and very effective if a bad actor is shot there) are: FRONT: The Occular Cavity SIDE: The Temple (just a smidge toward the top of the ear) REAR: Medula Oblongata (where the brain stem resides at the top of the spine where the brain joins the spinal column. A shot in any of these three locatations brings about catastropic INSTANT failure of all systems in the body. Put another way: "Instant Rag Doll." There's no last chance to pull a trigger, say 'good bye,' "I'm sorry," or...
