Unless I'm the last to know (which could be the case as I've been just about incommunicado), Phil's 'Busted Knuckles' has landed here , for now.  I'm thinkin' it's a temporary thing, but he's up and blogging.

I've Been EXTREMELY Pre-Occupied with a LOT of things....

But not too busy to put out a reminder:  Winter is coming on fast; time to get your primary 'go to 'winterized.'  Clean it extremely well, and remove all but the most minute amount of lubrication.  Change batteries in your optics, if they're so powered. You'll be glad you did, should you need your 'go to.'  Just keep it away from any actors you may happen across.

No Wiggle Room on This!

Regarding Baldwin's killing of the DP of his latest movie and "fault": It is the PERSONAL responsibility of the person holding the weapon to immediately check the chamber for either appropriate loads OR empty status.    No excuses, no,  "they told me it was empty..." ALL WEAPONS ARE ALWAYS LOADED UNTIL PROVEN TO BE EMPTY BY VISUAL INSPECTION. THE PERSON WITH HIS OR HER HANDS ON THE WEAPON IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE IF THE WEAPON IS DISCHARGED, UNINTENTIONALLY OR NOT. End of story.

Annnnnnndddd, it's a muslim....well, thankfully, at least here in the US, sidearms trump archery equipment.   Via Info Wars . Muslim Convert Responsible for Bow and Arrow Killings Described as “Danish National” by Media by  Paul Joseph Watson October 14th 2021, 6:16 am Media outlets & Twitter bury likely motivation. After a Muslim convert on a radicalization watchlist killed five people during a bow and arrow rampage in Oslo, media outlets and Twitter reacted by describing the perpetrator as a “Danish national.” Hmm, they appear to have left something out there. Four women and one man were left dead after the attack, while an off-duty police officer and another person were wounded. According to police chief Ole Bredrup Saeverud, the 37-year-old culprit had converted to Islam and “There were concerns over radicalisation.” Reuters  reported  the story with the headline “Danish man suspected of killing five in bow-and-arrow attack in Norway.” Twitter also chose to bury his Muslim

Both officers were standing in front of an open door to an apartment when the shooting began. Tactically speaking you want to avoid standing in front of doors, open or closed. Open doors silhouette your profile while closed doors give your position away to the bad guy. It may sound basic but in a bad guy’s mind they have a 50/50 shot of hitting you if they shoot through the door

Halloween Scares....

Image
According to the WSJ, here , the scariest thing about Halloween THIS year is 'the supply chain'....now, extrapolate the shortage of Halloween 'stuff' to essential 'stuff....like food.  I was in a local Costco today....went to the refrigerated veggie room, and was totally amazed that it was less than half full.  Anyone who shops at Costco knows the veggie room has a double stack rack for pallets of veggies....many of the first and second layer racks were empty.  The center floor level stack was really small. So, I'd not worry so much about costumes or yard decorations....I'd worry about the people who will look scary naturally once they start to get REALLY hungry and decide to show up at your door with a bag...demanding YOUR food.    Adverse jab effect?  Naaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh....couldn't be!! An excerpt: "For those who haven’t yet bought costumes and decorations, the news may be grim. Of more than 8,000 consumers surveyed in the first week of Septem

Field Cleaning Kit...

Image
Lots of different configurations out there from none 'I don't need to clean my piece' to 'half my ruck is  cleaning equipment and solvents' when it comes to weapons cleaning equipment. My kit is light, comprehensive, and easily stowed and will clean my tools when needed for a good bit of time without resupply.  It takes care of 9mm/.45ACP (so I can take either, but not both) 5.56, and 12 Ga.  I added a Gerber M4gery tool, some CLP, Springco MG lubricant, patches for both pistol and the 5.56, and a collapsible rod.  Just over a pound, maybe pound and a half, altogether. If circumstances force me to stay away from my normal cleaning 'laboratory,' I've got enough to keep me going for quite some time....maybe the rest of my life. When you put yours together, make sure you don't overpack, and make sure you know how long your piece will operate as designed without cleaning.  Hopefully, you're into chrome or nitride lined barrels and chambers and Nickel

Patterns...

It oughta be obvious that the light at the end of our tunnel is a train coming....with no brakes. See the previous two posts here , and here for the first two parts of the pattern. Original here, at Of Two Minds .... The Market Crash Nobody Thinks Is Possible Is Coming The banquet of consequences is being served, and risk-off crashes are, like revenge, best served cold. The ideal setup for a crash is a consensus that a crash is impossible--in other words, just like the present:  sure, there are carefully measured murmurings about a "correction" but nobody with anything to lose in the way of public credibility is calling for an honest-to-goodness crash, a real crash, not a wimpy, limp-wristed dip that will immediately be bought. What I'm calling for is a  rip your face off ,  weeping bitter tears over the grave of the speculative wealth that you thought was forever  crash.  All those  buying the dip  because  the Fed will never let the market go down  will be crushed like

Supply Chain issues?  Here??  In the US?  Only crackpots believe that..... From Breitbart .  FOUR WEEK DELAY TO OFFLOAD SHIPS.  Both Coasts.  We haven't even BEGUN to feel the pinch yet.   You might want to top off your supplies....while prices are still manageable. Or not. Backlogged Cargo Ships Off New York, California Coasts Face 4-Week Wait Beyond the Southern border, another looming crisis for the Biden administration is the backlogged container ships anchored off the coasts of California and New York that now have to wait up to 4 weeks to unload their shipments. “Dozens of cargo ships anchored off the coasts of  Los Angeles  and New York face shocking wait times of up to four weeks and railyards and trucking routes are hopelessly clogged due to the lack of manpower to unload goods,” reported the  Daily  Mail . LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – SEPTEMBER 20: In an aerial view, container ships are anchored by the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles as they wait to offload on September

Original, here . In A Civil War The Authoritarian Left Would Be Easily Beaten – But It Won’t End There October 1, 2021   13 Comments By Brandon Smith There are a lot of assumptions and misconceptions when it comes to the notion of a second civil war within the US. What I see most often is the argument that the political left has “already won” the war without firing a shot and that a rebellion would be crushed under the heel of a newly a-wokened military industrial complex and a leftist controlled federal government. The problem is, this argument is extremely naive and ignores the bigger picture. I think there are a couple of reasons why certain people press the leftist supremacy theory: First, they greatly fear the idea of a kinetic war breaking out and find the idea of combat repellent. So, they act as if a shooting war cannot ever be won. They hide their fear behind a veil of “rationalism” and thin hopes of a completely passive resistance. They figure that if they can’t fight and win

Weekend Reading...

"Crisis," by Kurt Schlichter.   If you haven't read it yet, you should; if you have, read it again.  In fact, you may want to cosider the entire series.  He's also got a new one out (I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but it will most likely fill in the holes of the novel presence) called, "The Split." Very instructive either way.  Prophetic, almost.  My soul despairs at the suggestion that Schlichter might have been accurate in his premise described in the 'Turnbull' series,
