Looking for Input...
Ok, folks - I'm looking for opinions on the, "best place" to relocate to in relation to governmental adherence to the Constitution, personal freedom, and like-minded Americans. It's time to get on the road.
Please provide your objective suggestions.
Thanks!
Texas!
ReplyDeleteSo, are we talking Pan Handle, West Texas, Central, South....what region? I lived in San Antonio for 5 years eons ago...went back 15 years ago, and it was every bit as liberal as LA....so where are you suggesting?
ReplyDeleteSeriously.
Texas is so varied it makes a very good choice. Just stay out of the big cities and you'll be OK. Don't imagine you're looking to live in Houston or Dallas anyway. Great Western culture and associated liberty minded people West of a line from Corpus Christi up I-35/37 through San Antonio, Austin to Dallas.
DeleteThe more I see of Oklahoma, the more I like it. Eastern OK is quite hilly and remote with good lakes. OK is also the only state to vote totally Red in the past several elections. Northwest Louisiana is where I grew up and it is the conservative part of the state. Nice lakes also. Arkansas would be a great candidate but it tends to have the reputation of the place where all the Deliverance style actors are from. That may or may not be an issue for you.
As for "East of the Miss. Yankee". Attitude counts for everything.
DFW/Plano blue hive.
DeleteAustin actual communists operate there.
Waco/borderline.
Houston. Seriously??
Hill country is a 50/50 there. Like austin rich Kalifornia moved in.
0.02$
Tough call. Two years ago I might have suggested Idaho as an alternative but not any more.
ReplyDeleteIf I had my druther's I'd be up in the Ozarks myself.
God Bless you and good luck!
Yeah, I hear ya. I lived West Northwest of Boise (about 30 miles) for 5 years back before 2K. Still have family there and have visited 1 to 2 times annually. No bueno. Sickens my heart. Idaho used to be the best kept secret of the country.
DeleteOregon, when I was living in Idaho, was superb! Used to love to go to the coast and crab!
Mohave county AZ was the first AZ county to declare 2A sactuary in the state.
ReplyDeleteCheap high desert land in Aquarius and Hualapai mountains.
Mid 90's for summer time high and in January this year 18 inches of snow but melted in a week.
People up here mind their own damn business.
My closest neighbor is 2 miles away, I shoot rifles off my deck if I want to.
Arizona's pretty good, but stay out of Maricopa County...
DeleteHey don't post my email address.
ReplyDeleteMight want to look at the Northeastern /Mogollon Rim part of Arizona. If you are selective there are parts that have decent water and the climate isn't bad. Varied terrain...high desert to pine forest. Constitutional carry and some decently 'red' enclaves. If you passed through Bend/Sisters on the way to the coast from Idaho, that is a lot like the country around Show Low AZ which is near my location. Settled here after leaving the 'blue' Southern Oregon coast a few years back.
ReplyDeleteThanks; looks promising. How'd the local folks react to an East of the Mississippi Yankee moving into their area? I learned a looooooooong time ago not to piss off the natives; keep my ears and eyes open and mouth shut.....
DeleteSeriously, it sounds great! Would most likely need a sponsor, I'd imagine.
The locals are pretty easy going though we do have a few 'Karens'...open carry at places like wallyworld is pretty common and haven't seen anyone freak out yet... Wear a little camo and a holstered sidearm and nobody will notice an accent...just split your time between the local range and the Trump store (yes, we have a 'Trump' store in town...kinda tells ya the general attitude of the natives) and you're in...snark.
DeleteDon't see a contact e-mail anywhere...If you decide you're really interested and want local color or information from someone on the ground so to speak, Larry over at virtualmirage.org has my e-mail. He is in the general area too, just deeper in the boonies.
I don't know about northern AZ specifically, but I recently flew to Phoenix to visit my Dad. My rental car had California plates, and the natives were less than gracious.
DeleteI was looking at Wyoming, but I think Missouri is the place to go.
ReplyDeleteWyoming isn't what it was 30 yrs ago. Our last elections we were about 50/50 D/R, and the last 2 years we are swamped with out of state refugees, mainly Texas and Kalif. People in my little town are sick to tears, some of them are now leaving after a lifetime here, one just left for OK, another to AZ. Gov has no real backbone either.
DeleteIn all honesty....there aint nowhere that you can run to get beyond the reach of the government. Seriously, do you think that there is a "no cell power" area that is magically beyond the reach of the government? Or that somehow that government isn't really going to search for you in that area.....seeing as how now you've IDENTIFIED that area?
ReplyDeleteAnd if per chance you did relocate to that area; why should I trust you to "fight to the last man" when you've already shown that you "cut and run" when the SHTF?
Sorry to be a pooper on your parade BUT, this closed off thinking is what is getting folks into trouble. When you use the interwebs; rest assured that the government knows what you have posted. When you use your phones; rest assured that the government knows whom you have spoken with. When you use your smart TV; rest assured the government knows what shows you are watching.
The better plan would be a plan on how to take back your little area of life. Your village, town, city. If those government entities are crap liberal encrusted life forms; then suck it up and do something about it. Run for dogcatcher. Run for the school board. Do something so as to make your area something that doesn't need to be "run from".
Actually, it's just about moving to some, 'sooper sekrit' location. Or hiding. Or anything that you have mentioned. It's about being tired of being surrounded by purple/pink haired 'woke' types in a major metropolitan area that are running it into the ground. Simple numbers. There are more of them (by the thousands) than there are of us. So, they can have the 'utopia' they've worked for over the last 75 years.
DeleteAnd what makes you think for a second that me and mine haven't been active in our communities? You assume an awful lot. But thanks for enlightening all the readers on your "better' plan.
You're correct....I don't know what you've been up to. And if you been up to something, good for you and yours.
DeleteI hear ya on the fatigue with the "purple haired mob". I have a hope that they all got "jabbed" and will begin to die off in the next year. Severe attitude; yeah you betchya! I also am tired of their swarming, hive like antics.
Also, I understand your angst with what I typed. Maybe that's a sign that I struck a nerve or cut close to the bone.
Whichever it is, take it as a life lesson from an old fart.
Nope, not a sign at all on striking close to the nerve - simply responding a LOT of assumptions on your part.
DeleteTaken in stride; thanks for the 2nd response.
From another old fart.
at this point, the moon is your best bet...any red state may not stay red long...texas will be purple if not blue in 10 years...there is no safe place anymore...i would move as far as you can from any big city but close enough to get essentials...
ReplyDeleteMy research says Wyoming as the absolute best. Tough winters. High on the list is Northern AZ. Probably where we are headed. Idaho has already been wrecked by Libs moving in.
ReplyDeleteI suggest you avoid Coconino County although that is up to each person. I lived there for awhile. That county may/may not suit you. Mohave County is referred to as 'Eastern CA' because of the influx. Consequently, land prices have spiked. Otherwise, what I have to say of AZ has already been said; avoid Maricopa County.
DeleteI played this game. Went to west central Wyoming. Found a local community rapidly turning blue in a state that was establishment to the core. Then I went to central Texas, where I found out that there are FAR more Latinos than the census data suggests. The cities there are filled with non-Whites and liberals. In a myriad of ways, Texas is already California 2.0. The voting will soon reflect that.
ReplyDeleteEverywhere is infected. There is no escaping what's happening in the United States.
I'm in FR Cty WY, the apathy here is staggering, as you noted. You can't escape the idiocy that has taken over.
DeleteI am a guy that doesn’t mind snow and cold.
ReplyDeleteIt it were me, where I am now…
The UP of Michigan, Wisconsin north of highway 29, similar northern locations in Minnesota (Ely area), North Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho.
Farmers, ranchers, rural dwellers, they think differently. There’s work if you want it, although it may be more physical than you are used to. You also might need to get into some homesteading type activity, even if it’s just chickens and a garden.
Admittedly, those locations may have the downstream effects of a “blue” state in the form of law and taxes, but tend to have local county government and sheriffs that really reflect more of the will of the local populace, which tends not to be purple haired types.
I imagine there are also locations in the south and the west like that, but I haven’t studied them as much.
I think most people who work the trades could find jobs pretty easy. Same for medical practitioners, or people with fire/EMS skills, although you might not be on a career department in the last category, but on a volunteer org. That said, it’s a great way to make connection in your new community.
I always thought I would try to build a range or get a bunch of land that I could rent to trainers for a very reasonable fee. I think there would be other business opportunities that would probably present themselves as well.
Oklahoma my friend. If you want wide open the go West ok. If you like Eastern like I think you do, you will like Eastern Okla. Governor is pro constitution. Constitutional carry. No CRT in schools but you don't have that issue anyway. Cost of living is good. No stupid COVID bs anymore. Legal cannabis if that's yo thang. Going to be expanding my business next year and I can consult with you to get ya started. If you like plants and farming.....Good luck.
ReplyDeleteDitto. It's a sleeper.
DeleteSoutheast counties are wide open. No shortage of rain. Mild winters. 2500'-3000' observation posts are everywhere. Close to Texas in case it goes Full Republic again. Conservative people. All 77 counties are Red. Pine trees for shelter building. Deer, turkey,
a few bear, large cats.

ReplyDeleteMcAllister, OK area. Krebs is the “little Italy” of OK. None of the”diversity is our strength” bullshit - just Americans being Americans and Christians being Christians. They’re deservedly negative about Californians, but if you’re friendly and look people in the eye and say “I’m not from around here but my wife and I have been made to feel so welcome we feel awfully lucky to be here” there’s a fair chance you’ll be invited to church and maybe a bbq. If you ask “who’s the best plumber/mechanic/electrician “ you will be introduced else told there ain’t one. The best plumber arrived, worked his ass off, said it was a 2-man job, and spent the afternoon with his supervisor fixing our plumbing disaster and then sheepishly billed us $150. The next day the plumber called and the supervisor stopped by to make sure we were OK and to invite us to church.
DeleteIn a nutshell, we spent a year running around OK trying to find the right place. We were welcomed as Americans and veterans everywhere. But in Krebs we were made to feel like family. Good luck!
AZ is getting expensive, state is purple (2 D senators, have had D governors, etc..) Sure there are great areas, but most blue states have large, rural red areas. There's no place left to avoid the commie cancer that is killing this Country. Go deep into the woods and leave the internet and tv behind, think WV Appalachia, MO Ozarks?
ReplyDeleteHawkins County Tennessee. Constitutional Sheriff (and a good one), large and organized prepper community, no state income tax, lots of rain fall, long growing season, lots of agricultural production, terrain favorable to defense, low population density, not close to major cities.
ReplyDeleteDid a limited recon of Prescott AZ., in April. Traffic was insane and lots of California transplants. Housing costs were up, also. Then drove to Coeur d' alene, Idaho. Same thing. Need to spend more time on recon.
ReplyDeleteCoeur d alene is a tourist town so of course there are lots of tourist s and transplants there. Even so, almost no mask wearers when I was there a few weeks ago, no BLM signs. Try smaller places and you can find what you're looking for.
DeleteThe same thing is true of every state. Cities are going to be full of libs.
It doesn't matter where you go physically as long as your trust and faith is in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You can't stop what is coming. www.iwant2go2heaven.weebly.com
ReplyDeleteI live by this old saw, "Put your Faith in God (which it is, including the Savior), and aim low." Basically, it's to get a better position for when they DO come. There are no safe places, but there are some truly crappy places....
DeleteEast TN. Friendly natives (I'm relocated from north of the Mason Dixon), number of blue state migrants though so watch out for liberal enclaves but that's all they are.
ReplyDeleteLife long Texan. If you decide to move here, avoid east Texas. Lots of trees and water good climate. but people everywhere. If things go T.U. that is the area the hordes from Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston will go to. Far West Texas is too dry with very little water. West central Texas is just right. The area from Clifton/Gatesville on the east side to Brownwood/San Angelo- Abilene on the west side. From Graham/ west of Ft Worth on the north to the hill country on the south. Hill country is over run with Austin trash and very expensive. Very nice area, but think 50-100K/acre with little on the market. Towns to look around are Graham, Jacksboro, Glen Rose, Clifton, Gatesville, LLano, Brownwood, Ballanger, Winters, San Angelo and anywhere inside of that box. For the bad, yes we are rapidly turning blue. Mostly due to immigration. Won't be long either. I would avoid Texas for now.
ReplyDeleteOklahoma- lots to like but (BIG BUT!) the Indian tribes have recently won a law suit. Basically, near everything east of OKC is now tribal land. The current tribe governments wants everything to stay the same. Get a radical bunch in and you don't own your land anymore. Shame I nearly moved there as it is great. West of OKC, same problem as west Texas. Water. There was a reason for the novel Grapes of Wrath.
I have been looking hard at north central Arkansas. Land is cheaper, lots of water and woods. Remote and good people. Look around Bull Shoals Lake going east, north or south. Also SW /SC Mo. looks nice
Eastern KY is still OK despite King Andy and his shenanigans
ReplyDeleteI'm down here in South Central Ohio along the Ohio River. It's always been a place you move out of, not into. This poverty stricken region escaped the Buckeye State's great years before turning into the Rust Belt King! If the bridges aren't blocked, it's only 2-5 hours away to the mountains in Eastern Kentucky & Tennessee if you need to retreat. Not many rural roads & US 52 is highly vulnerable to road blocks & sabotage when the SHTF. It's the only east-west route north of the river. Given the terrain, forests & river, it should be easy to defend when the time comes. Also, an added plus, very scenic on both sides of the Ohio.
DeleteGo away to some place inhospitable, cold, wet, crappy. Be a Wolverine , all the gooder places are gone. If your moving you are a refugee(target), your window is closing fast, you thought about it too long.Get off your ass and get safe.Your gear will not save you, your brains will,be smart.
ReplyDelete1963-LA to Oregon,2009 to Wyoming. Its hard to move you miss the old day's, BUT the 2hr commute and the gangs, the sirens of cops and fire trucks 24/7 is gone, you can hear your own heart beating. Wyoming isn't that great but the govt.is not your friend no matter where you live,Every organization is filled with informants, narcs, and your basic trash that will steal from you even here. Moscow rules,24/7......
Definitely DON’T come to Kentucky. There are way too many grounded self reliant people here, farming, ranching and homesteading in our great mild 4 season climate, with a long growing season and plenty of rainfall. Our country roads are well maintained, and have no traffic, and certainly don’t need more.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a terrible place for anyone else doing what we’re all doing here, and despite 2 f’d up cities, most the people here are very conservative and Christian.
So please by all means, go to scorching hot Texas or some godawful arctic winter state that needs more Christian conservatives to offset their huge influx of criminal aliens and other species of vermin.
Lol
Stay out of Northern Kentucky. It's nothing more than a giant suburb of Cincinnati. That's about 30 miles, east, west & especially south!
DeleteIf you are looking to relocate based on state boundaries, you're wasting your time. Look based on resources, this is the key:
ReplyDeletehttps://rumble.com/vl23kf-water-harvesting-and-storage-start-now.html
I've lived in a lot of places and of all of them, I like the Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee the best. There are quite a few like-minded people who have voted with their feet and moved here. Tennessee has some RINOs at the state and local level, but show me a state that doesn't. Overall, I feel like the trend is moving towards more liberty. If you're interested, I'm happy to answer any questions you have and recommend some good Realtors around the area.
ReplyDeleteFor me it comes down to lack of diversity which means overwhelmingly white because we don’t do the violent crime and you know they are my people, freedoms population density and that you’re mix in weather job availability and the general mindset of the people. any state that is now blew our run by communist is a Knogo because we never seen one turn red again and go pro freedom. That would have to come after festivities.
ReplyDeleteDo you want to be in and around for hundreds and hundreds of miles deep like-minded people. I don’t want any communists anywhere near me that could be a threat to my liberty. I want to know that everyone from my local sheriff state legislature judges local government and everyone is on the same page as me. you’re going to have idiots and Commies everywhere but I want them to be in the extreme minority and I want very little racial diversity.
With those qualifications I found northern Idaho in Northwest Montana to be about as good as It can be. There are places in Florida that fit the bill with Florida as a very populous and racially diverse state and eventually it’s going to go blue as far as the government goes. Now we all know it’s going to split splinter off even within states eventually but still. Plus I don’t like the humidity down here.
You need to write down your personal criteria and go check out places. I’ve checked them all out and I even lived in Alaska for 10 years so I know those areas are perfect for me. Just can’t get any kind of house there right now.
Out of curiosity, where in NW Montana? I'm looking there, but haven't had a chance to get out there yet. I know a guy in Sheridan who loves it, he's also advised me that farther up north there is a great deal of land, but that winters are long and gray. Long doesn't bother me, constantly gray skies might. Anyone want to throw their .02 worth in here?
DeleteMontgomery County Texas has a hard core constitutional sheriff and judge.....both Christians. The sheriff is an aggressive member of the CSPOA.org On the CSPOA site you can find both the sheriff and judge speaking
ReplyDeleteMontgomery County TX....
ReplyDeleteJohnson City, in the Tricities area, Eastern TN (east of Knoxville, north of Asheville NC). Small town, most gun friendly place I have ever lived, lots of land available if you don’t mind living out a bit. Very conservative.
ReplyDeleteOklahoma.
ReplyDeleteI spent the first decade of my life in the eastern half, and the last two in the west.
If I were rootless and clanless, I'd probably be in Montana...I describe it as Oklahoma with fewer people, better parks and colder winters (a plus for me). As it is, this is home, and unless nukes drop on Fort Sill, I'm not leaving.
I love Texas. But, if you want to relocate to a place with great potential, try Northern Arkansas. Great water, lots of timber and decent soil for growing. Low density population and cheap land. Look at areas west of Harrison and East of Springdale. It's Ozark land.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck in your search and thank you for all the great information that you keep putting out.
Steve.
The Plains states. Kansas, Oklahoma or Nebraska in particular. The very center of the country. The rot, having started at the edges, has yet to gain a death grip here. Not that it hasnt started, but the OpFor is much more easily located here fur future, uh, discussions.
ReplyDeleteAfter the Anschluss of Nevada by Kalifornia demorats during the last mid-terms, we saw the writing on the wall and decided to bail, so we researched a lot (taxes, [Strongly suggest you look at property taxes, something many overlook, which is why we didn’t consider Texas], cost of living & energy, politics, number of Christian churches, population, jobs, crime stats, gun laws, healthcare (hospitals & doctors per population size). We took several 3 day vacations to physically check out potential areas and considered Northern Idaho (southern ID never considered), Montana, North&South Dakota and Wyoming. So after all of that headed out to NW Montana. Almost 2 1/2 years now. No regrets whatsoever. Beautiful up here (if you don’t mind snow, we don’t and I grew up in the South Pacific), got twice the house and land than we had in northern NV for almost the same price (prices have gone up here since, as we aren’t the only ones escaping. Ran into a old client of mine from Nevada the other day. He moved here too), there is no state sales tax on anything, and friendly folk’s (as long as you aren’t from Kalifornia, as hate for Kali's by Montanans is frankly an understatement, but understandable).
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you and good hunting.
Why now and not before...You have seen me on WRSA for over ten years now to be Building Community of your people and if you couldn't do it where you were at to move to somewhere you could...I said to come join me in MT and very few people actually saw the need to do that because everyone was still to Comfortable...There is still room here but it's getting more expensive by the day...
ReplyDeleteSimply looking for input; no disrespect intended - I don't 'join' people I don't know based on their word alone.
DeleteI would have appreciated more reading why you believe Montana is a great choice to relocate to.
Thanks for dropping by, and I am hoping you're doing well.
