On 'Boomer' Bashing...

Warning: Rant ahead. Full disclosure:  I'm a 'Baby Boomer.'  Born in 1955.     Some basic facts on me:  Educated 50/50 in private and public schools.  Entered the military 1 week post high school graduation.  No safety net.  I either made it in the military or I was on my own.  No 'transition' space was offered or asked for.  Was eligible for welfare (while in the active duty military as a staff NCO) until Reagan gave all branches an across the board 14% pay raise in '81.  Never took a dime of welfare money.  Worked part-time during 'off duty' hours to make ends meet.   Retired as a Master Sergeant; had a job the day I became 'retired.'  Not been out of a job for more than a short while (twice, because I moved), been politically astute and active, registered voter, father of two productive adult children, grandfather to eight.   I raised my children to make their own lives and depend upon no one el...

From Survival News . [ BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! 'Average' American....TWO weeks... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! - sorry....couldn't help myself. Seriously, this survey is beyond ridiculous.  Really.  As many readers who actually TRAIN in survival, it ain't some tee vee inspired game.  It's for all the marbles.  Notice how they don't mention some things that are  VERY  important?  Have a gun - with lots of ammunition in your survival pack.  Make sure your friends/family who are with you have a gun with lots of ammunition in their survival pack.  .22's are great survival tools. Have tarps to set up shelters. Have multiple fire starters - all kinds.  You only want to use a spark device if your lighters and other accelerants are used up.  Remember the old adage:  "Win if you can, lose if you must, but by ALL means, cheat!" Small Sawyer water purifier, or at least water purification tablets. As just about any...

Bringing Back an Old War Horse...

Specifically, my Kimber Pro Carry.   It's had a LOT of rounds through it, and over the years, the tritium night sights grew dim; the op rod spring grew old and weak, and basically, it ended up in an 'undisclosed location' as a last resort pistol. Sooooo, long story short, I put a new set of tritiums on it, a Wilson Combat flat wire spring op rod spring & guide kit in it, and bought a few new Chip McCormick (RIP) magazines. Shoots flawlessly.  Accurate as the day is long.  More accurate than my Glock 19.  Ugly as the day is long, too, but the beauty is in the function.  And it eats anything I put in the mag.   Makes a man happy.  Just sayin'

But, hey, so long as she can 'apologize' for not following her own rules and partying in Florida, it's ok, right? RIGHT?? From Breitbart . So Tell Me Again About Biden's Oath?

Original . EXCLUSIVE: Leaked State Department Memo Indicates Official Support for BLM Agenda By  Jack Posobiec   |  May 24, 2021 A source within the Biden State Department wishing to remain anonymous has shared with  Human Events News  a document that indicates that all U.S. “Diplomatic and Consular posts” are being encouraged to display shows of support for Black Lives Matter on Tuesday, May 25, the one-year anniversary of  George Floyd’s death .  The memo reads in part, “The Department supports the use of the term ‘Black Lives Matter’ in messaging content, speeches, and other diplomatic engagements with foreign audiences to advance racial equity and access to justice  on May 25 and beyond  (italics added) We encourage posts to focus on the need to eliminate systemic racism and its continued impact.” The memo, which is in part a woke statement on social justice, part an apology for U.S. actions, and part an endorsement of all BLM materials, ...

Decided to get some of Fenix's .45ACP FMJ ammo and check out their brick & mortar location.  So, once I get it and take it to the range, I'll compare it to Winchester White Box on performance including accuracy, cleanliness, out of the box appearance, and so forth.   I also LOVE the fact that each purchaser MUST certify he or she did NOT vote for the 'fake' resident of the White House ('he whose name shall not be mentioned here, lest the ghost of Karl Marx appear). I've already bought and shot a good amount of .45ACP FMJ from 'Freedom Munitions' and compared to Winchester White Box (the FM performs a tad better) which is some really, really good ammo, and I hope the Fenix is in the same caliber (no pun intended, LOL) when it comes to busting caps. Now, don't get me wrong, the great majority of my training ammo is Winchester White Box, but prices are still stupidly out of my affordability range, so I'm always looking for quality ammo to train ...

Pragmatic Thought Here...

I've been noticing a good amount of 'best rounds for personal defense/SHTF/Mutant Zombie Biker Apocalypse/Going to the Grocery Store. My answer, though I have my favorites in numbers that allow me to stay proficient in their use, is this: "The best rounds for personal defense in all situations are the ones you have loaded in your weapon and spare magazines.  Period." The rounds in your weapon and mags trump all those others say that you MUST have to protect yourself, because should you be attacked, they're the rounds you're sending down the pipe at the bad guy. There you go.
